Jack's Lyrics: the Music & Lyrics of Jack Sparks
And the Moon Sleeps in Camelot
 Play
Lyrics
A man takes his maiden
and longs to hold her in his arms
Two strangers that time has made
Where's the magic?
Where's the charm?
CHORUS
And the moon sleeps in Camelot
And pretty maidens live in dreams
But who shall ransom Lancelot
when Camelot's not the way it seems?

Lighted towers look over the green
full of children's playthings
one and all
Winter goes and the tax man will come
and o'er the playthings we'll hope he falls
CHORUS

Story Behind the Song:
I wrote this song while working as a window cleaner for all of these young couples who skipped their salad days and went right for the McMansion, the gardener, the nanny, the housekeeper and, I wondered- What was the point? Weren't they missing out on so many of the things that makes being married enjoyable?
